Cotton -Kalamkari

A chance comment on a video clip helped me to connect with Pitchuka Srinivas from Pedana who is a pioneer in block printed kalamkari using organic colours. His father started the unit which Srinivas garu continues and is fighting an uphill battle against screen printed, chemically coloured kalamkari material/sarees.

A pleasant gentlemen with immense knowledge, he was in the news recently when he objected to the fast and furious form of this gentle and patient art form!

We have selected a few sarees that we will be presenting on the page tomorrow – butter soft, in 120 count cotton, block printed using organic colours, these sarees comes with its own blouse length.
